Macspotting

One of the coolest things I like to do is Macspotting. This is the art of spotting a mac computer being used in a movie or TV show. Macs are been featured in many movies and TV shows every day:

Movies like The Faculty, Godzilla (1998),You've Got Mail, and Mission Impossible featured Macs. TV shows like Spin City, Melrose Place, Veronica's Closet, and Sex And The City featured them as well.

Did you know that Hollywood has used Macs to portray the good guys and PC's for the bad guys?...its true. In the show 24, the hero, Jack Bauer and his team use Macs to thwart the bad guys. What do the bad guys use?...Dell PC's. There was even one episode where one of the good guys used a PC for a long time....she was later revealed to be a traitor bad guy.

The Apple House

My friends, you are looking at a very special house and garage. It was in this very building that Apple Computer was born way back in 1975. That garage was where the world's best computers were created and actually built. The house is now privately owned...but all of us Mac users should pool our money, buy it, and turn it into a museum...LOL. Can you imagine Steve Jobs sitting there with the door open, building his machine, sweating it out for the good of mankind?...I can!

Microsoft is desperate!

Have you seen those dumb Microsoft ads with Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld? Confusing huh? Yeea, Microsoft thinks so too. They paid Seinfeld 10 million bucks for 6 minute ads...10 Million for 6 minutes!!! Now, word is that Microsoft decided the ads are too confusing and stupid and they are dropping Seinfeld like a hot potato.

They gotta be desperate over there, what with the iPod dominating the MP3 market and more people buying Macs than PC's. These ads don't even mention Microsoft or any of their products...bad business decision.

Oh, by the way..here are the ads; try to make sense of them if you can.

For Our World

We need to stop, just stop
Stop for a moment
Before anybody says
Or does anything
That may hurt anyone else
We need to be silent, just silent
Silent for a moment
Before we forever lose the
Blessing of songs
That grow in our hearts
We need to notice, just notice
Notice for a moment
Before the future slips away
Into ashes and dust of humility
Stop, be silent, and notice
In so many ways, we are the same
Our differences are unique treasures
We have, we are, a mosaic of gifts
To nurture, to offer, to accept
We need to be, just be
Be for a moment
Kind and gentle,
Innocent and trusting
Like children and lambs
Never judging or vengeful
Like the judging and the vengeful
And now, let us pray
Differently, yet together
Before there is no earth, no life
No chance for peace
For our world

Quinceañera

Here are some pics from last Saturday's Quinceañera celebration. I thought the dress was fabulous, especially the laced-up back.

Celebrities don't matter

When it comes to presidential elections I believe celebrities should not speak out. Their celebrity status should not be the influence by which we vote. They can have an opinion, yes, but they seem to use these opinions as a way to send people a message "vote for my canditate because if you want to be popular like me you have to".

Inevitably they often make fools of themselves and say things that then they have to take back; remember in the last elections Alec Baldwin said if Bush won he would move out of the country? Guess what...he didn't! Now Lindsay Lohan makes a statement that only highlights my point that in the world today the bad thing to do it seen as the normal thing to do, and being good is seen as the wrong choice:

"I really cannot bite my tongue," Lohan writes, urging people to vote for Sen. Barack Obama. "Is it a sin to be gay? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?"

Hey Lindsay, here's your answer...uuhh..YES! Isn't is funny how most of them are for pre-marital sex, homosexuality, and other various forms of sin? I bet they know exactly what the Bible says but they choose to turn a blind eye because they're afraid to stand out for the right reasons and go against the flow.

Hollywood needs to wake up, seriously, and stop using elections to further their own sick twisted agendas and ideas. Hollywood is NOT the norm. I hope people vote their conscience...vote on the issues that matter to them personally.

Today is the 7th anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Please rememeber and pray for the families who lost members and loved ones today. Take a little time to observe a moment of silence for the victims.

Un-American!

As I was driving by a neighborhood today I noticed someone had their American flag upside down:

Most people are not aware that there is a flag code in this country that describes the rules for displaying the American Flag. The Flag Code states, "The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property." The union is the blue field with the white stars on it.

We have to remember that the flag represents the government of the US and its policies; but it also represents the promise as yet unfulfilled of the Declaration, it represents our freedom of speech, our freedom to practice or not practice religion as we choose, it represents American values, it represents one nation in its glory, it represents hope for a better future, and importantly it represents the sacrifices made in all generations to protect our freedoms.

It is always funny to me that people who protest their own country don't do so by leaving. If you hate America so much then what are you doing here eating the food, breathing the air, wearing our clothes and enjoying our freedoms??? I just don't get it.

Planetshakers - These guys are awesome!!

Planetshakers is a Christian youth movement that began as an annual conference and grew into an international ministry and large church in Melbourne, Australia. The conference was born out of Paradise Community Church in Adelaide, South Australia by Pastor Russell Evans. Planetshakers expanded, and in 2004 moved to Melbourne to begin a church ministry (originally called Melbourne City Church). Planetshakers also has its own bible college which is located in several campuses throughout Australia. Planetshakers' stated mission is to "empower a generation to win a generation".

Growing internationally, Planetshakers now also runs conferences in Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa, with a desire to expand to the United States of America. The Planetshakers band is the central part of their events, bearing a worship-woven modern pop-rock sound attractive to young people. The 2003 Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian was also a part of the Planetshakers band for several years, taking both lead and backup vocal parts on the 2002 and 2003 albums and conferences. Many of the musicians originated from Youth Alive South Australia.

A television show, titled Planetshakers TV is currently in production and is scheduled to air on the Australian Christian Channel in 2008. The program will include all-new filmed material as well as Planetshakers songs and preaching from the conferences and church.

Personally I like these guys better than Hillsong.

New Book!!!!

I am so excited!!! Ted Dekker, one of my favorite christian fiction writers is releasing the third book in the Paradise trilogy...Sinner. Now, if you haven't read his books....go get some, they are soooo gooood. This one deals with religious rights and free speech. Of course, it is a fast moving engaging story. Time to use my Borders rewards!
