There seems to always be a group in church whose job is to criticize and joke about others who are active in the ministry...have you noticed that? They make fun of the guy who does the dramas, or the guy who sings, or the girl who's involved in dance, etc. They sit in church and talk all thru the service but if there's an activity that involves food or sports they show up. That's curious to me because it seems these people themselves are not really contributing anything...they're just bodies filling seats.
Sure, they USED to be active in the church; in camps, youth events, etc. But now, it seems they have grown and are too good to do anything anymore...even too good to listen to the Word and let God into their lives. Oh, they do think that by coming to church God is in their lives, but they're deceived. One has to just look at their atittudes to see that there's nothing of God there.
They act like they're smart but if you ask them for any ideas for an activity they have nothing. Some of them want to be leaders without paying the price and doing what they know they have to do to be leaders...sheesh! It's so easy to stand on the sidelines criticize and joke about those who are making a BIG difference in church.
The church is moving on and these guys are staying behind...sad but true. So, my question to them is what are YOU doing to further the ministry? Heck, what are YOU doing to make sure God is active in your life??? You sit there and laugh and joke about others who are contributing as if participating is the wrong thing to do when you know NOT participating is what's wrong (see how people nowadays think doing the wrong thing is the normal thing to do?).
What happened to the Spirit-filled person you were? Where are those guys who had a fire and passion for God and were willing to go all out? Where are the those warriors from years gone by? Have you let the enemy come and harden you to the point that you are now essentially making fun of what you yourself were? Maybe you had to be disciplined and instead of using that to improve yourself you fell into a spirit of rebellion...that's too bad...we really could use you.
