Batman drinks milk!!!

I looove this picture from the upcoming Got Milk ad...

Noooo Sony...don't do it!!!!

I loooove superhero movies...but this is too much!!!!

Last week, it was rumored that Sony Pictures is looking to shoot Spider-Man 4 and Spider-Man 5 at the same time using a script that spans the two films. While that hasn't been confirmed, there are rumors Peter Parker/Spider-Man may get recast for the films. Who do they say top the producers' list for the role?

Patrick Fugit (he was in a movie called Almost Famous)

If he doesn't work out the next one on the list is Michael Angarano...he was the boy in Sky High

Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst don't want to commit to shooting back to back films so unless they agree to it we will see a different Spidey and Mary Jane....ooh the humanity!!!

Memorial Day

Memorial Day. is a United States federal holiday that is observed on the last Monday of May . It was formerly known as Decoration Day. This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it expanded to include those who died in any war or military action. One of the longest standing traditions is the running of the Indianapolis 500, which has been held in conjunction with Memorial Day since 1911.

Daughter of Christian Music Star Steven Curtis Chapman Killed by SUV Driven by Teen Brother

This is terrible news...

The 5-year-old daughter of Grammy-winning Christian music star Steven Curtis Chapman was struck and killed Wednesday by a sport utility vehicle driven by her brother, authorities said. The girl, Maria Sue, was hit in the driveway of the family's home Wednesday afternoon by a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by her teenage brother (she is the one he has on his lap in the picture above).

Several family members witnessed the accident, which happened in Williamson County just south of Nashville. The girl died later at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Chapman, who is originally from Paducah, Ky., and his wife have promoted international adoption and have three daughters from China, including Maria. They also have three biological children.

The 45-year-old singer also has released a book about being a father titled "Cinderella: The Love of Daddy and his Princess." He has won five Grammy awards and 54 Dove awards from the Gospel Music Association.

This is terrible news that has impacted the entire christian music industry because Steven is so well known and his music is liked by all. Let us pray for strength and healing for this family, especially the brother who was driving.

What makes a good model

Today I was asking myself what a good model is...what are the things a good model should have. Luckily I found the answer to that, so if anyone of you out there would like to model, read on...

1. A model must want to be photographed. This seems obvious. But not everyone really enjoys this process. Photographers should look to work with models that enjoy the photographic experience and want to participate in creative photography shoots.

2. A model must want to be published. Again this is another quality that seems obvious, but some models can be very controlling when it comes to their image. Recently I had a falling out with a model who insulted my photography and claimed that this blog was not good enough to feature her image. Again, look to choose a model who wants to have their image on display

3. A model must have a good attitude and be receptive to the photographic process. This is another essential. It can take a lot of hard work to capture the right image and it makes a big difference if you work with someone who is creative and wants to experiment to get the right shot. The final result will be much better and their experience can be a great collaboration. On the flip side. A bad model can treat you like the hired help and have an ego bigger than the Himalayas.

4. A model must be professional and respect you as a professional. In the creative industries there are a lot of actors, writers, artists, photographers, and models. Basically you are lucky if you are working and should be respectful to anyone who is helping you through that process. Models in turn should treat photographers with the same respect

5. The best models are friends. Most photographers have a few friends that are models that they photograph over the years. Moreover, it is a wonderful feeling to look at images of a friends that you have grown and matured with through undergrad, weddings, and into adulthood.

6. The best models enjoy the final product. They thank you for capturing a beautiful portrait and want to go through the process again. To me this what portraiture is. To capture someone’s face, essence, personality, and soul. Ultimately a good model appreciates and understands your art.

Interesting fact

One of the photography blogs I read had this interesting fact about what you need to do to be a photographer in Germany.

Apparently you have to start learning photography by a master licensed photographer for 3 1/2 years and also spend 1 day of the week in the designated school operated by the government. After examination you have to work for a photographer at least 5 years, after which you have to go at least 2 years full time in a master-school for photography, and finish with a examination.

Thats a whopping 11 years of intensive training before you can even become licensed...crikey!

Inspiration

Here's some awesome quotes of inspiration that I found:

"The thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen".

"I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure--which is: Try to please everybody".

"Success does not consist in never making blunders, but in never making the same one a second time".

"If you wish success in life, make perseverance your bosom friend, experience your wise counselor, caution your elder brother, and hope your guardian genius".

"The talent of success is nothing more than doing what you can do, well".

"A wise man learns by the mistakes of others,
a fool by his own".

"The more a man knows, the more he forgives".
